For Hw 4.25, you are asked to draw the lewis structure and are expecting whether or not molecules are polar or non polar. In the solution workbook, they drew CH2Cl2 with C in the heart and one H in the top place and the other H in the right position and then the Cl in the bottom position and the other Cl in the left position. My question is why is it now not that the two Cl are placed opposite of each other (either left and proper of the central atom or best and bottom of the central atom) and the two H positioned reverse of each other? Why are the 2 H and two Cl positioned next to one another?
